CELEBRATE ART!
In November, the International Arts Festival (FIA) comes to Guanacaste, Costa Rica
The FIA 2024 will span various districts in Guanacaste, which will allow Ticos from all over Guanacaste to experience the richness. The shows will begin in Santa Cruz and Nicoya on November 8, 9, and 10, and end in Liberia and Cañas on November 15, 16, and 17.
Guanacaste’s culture, combined with its natural beauty, makes it a fitting stage for the festival’s events. This is the first year that Guanacaste was chosen as the prime location. The festival celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Costa Rica and the global arts community and it is a tribute to Guanacaste to be selected.
The festival blends performances, workshops, and exhibits, bringing together a wide array of artistic expressions, including visual arts, theater, music, dance, literature, and more. With its commitment to accessibility and community engagement, FIA 2024 will offer diverse programming that is free and open to the public, showcasing national and international talent alike.
Highlights
The festival is for everyone. This year’s festival will feature a Caravan of Arts, a mobile series of performances and workshops that will travel from town to town, ensuring that even remote communities in Guanacaste get to experience the festival. Stops along the caravan include Nandayure, Hojancha, Filadelfia, La Cruz, Bagaces, and many more. These small towns will be animated with artistic showcases in public spaces, making the arts accessible to all.
Over 100 artistic groups from across Costa Rica and around the world will participate, representing disciplines ranging from theater and dance to literature and visual arts. The festival will host a wide array of activities suited for all ages, including children’s programming, youth workshops, and performances.
November is a wonderful time to be in Guanacaste for a destination wedding in Costa Rica. As the rains recede, the deep green mountains are breathtaking all along the coastal waters. It’s a great time to celebrate art and life.
